Watertown Coffee

Product & Lifestyle Photography for Local Coffee Brand

Brand Overview

Watertown Coffee, a coffee company owned by Harbor Wholesale, offers premium coffee experiences for both convenience store purchases and home brewing. Their commitment to quality starts with 100% specialty-grade Arabica beans, responsibly sourced and expertly roasted in the Pacific Northwest.

Project Objective

To create a comprehensive library of imagery showcasing Watertown Coffee in various settings, from styled product shots on a kitchen counter to lifestyle images of on-the-go and office scenarios. The images were intended for use across multiple marketing platforms, including the website, social media, truck wraps, store signage, and other sales materials. The desired vibe was light and bright with a modern, upscale feel, incorporating the brand's signature colors: bright blue, white, black, and coffee tones, accented with botanical elements and targeting their ideal market of post-college professionals who are often on the go.

Production Challenges

This was a large-scale shoot encompassing a wide variety of marketing materials and settings. Maintaining organization, creating all of the necessary shots, and sustaining creative momentum throughout the process was challenging.

Creative Process

I approached the project as a two-part shoot. To ensure consistency and maintain focus, I created a detailed shot list and storyboard based on pre-sourced inspiration. This planning allowed me to stay on brand, on task, and inspired to produce high-quality work.

For the first part of the shoot, I styled product shots in my studio using backdrops and props that evoked a work-from-home setting, incorporating pops of the their bright blue branding color.

For the second part of the shoot, I rented a bright office space with lots of botanical accents and hired models dressed in casual office attire, supplementing the scenes with relevant office props to reinforce the on-the-go messaging.
