Brand Overview
Girl Loves Cake Desserts is a local small business specializing in decadent, gourmet macarons. She creates interesting flavor combinations and meticulous designs that have her selling out at every market she pops up at.
Project Objective
To create a series of high-quality images that would elevate the brand's visual identity and showcase the artistry and flavor of the macarons. The goal was to capture a variety of imagery, from the individual macarons to beautifully curated boxes, to be used on her newly designed website and in her social media marketing.
Production Challenges
Creating high-quality product imagery of the macarons in a commercial kitchen environment presented a unique set of challenges. The limited natural light and overall industrial setting were not ideal for creating the desired upscale imagery focused on such a small product.
Creative Process
To overcome these challenges, I utilized the limited natural light available by setting up a makeshift studio near the only window. I used a portable vinyl backdrop to create a clean and minimalist background, and styled the macarons with real ingredients to highlight their flavors and artisanal quality.
By carefully considering the composition and lighting, I was able to create a series of stand-out images that showcased the beauty and decadence of the macarons.
