Product Photography for Local Kombucha Brand
Last September I had the opportunity to work with Komadre Kombucha, a small-batch kombucha brand local to my hometown of Tacoma, Washington. The main goal of this brand photoshoot was to create some professional product photos of Komadre’s newly designed labels so that they could up-level their branding and pitch their product to larger grocery stores and other stockists. Julie wanted to make sure we had some basic product shots on a simple background, but also wanted to show off what each flavor contains and bring in some of her other branding elements with some styled shots as well. In these styled shots, it was also important to show the color of the Kombucha in a separate drinking glass since the jars she sells her product in are amber colored.
Here’s a little bit more about the Komadre Kombucha brand taken from their website: “Komadre Kombucha began as a home kitchen science project. Seeking an alternative to sugary sodas and alcoholic beverages, Julie started her own mother culture in a little glass jar and married it with her favorite fresh-pressed juice ingredients. Fueled by her quest for greater vitality and a passion for creating community, Julie decided to share her sparkly tropical concoctions with friends and neighbors…and today she’s sharing them with the 253.”
I love that Julie has such a strong sense of community, support for other women-owned businesses like my own, and a passion for wellness that she is translating into her product and sharing with the greater Pacific Northwest. Not only is her kombucha absolutely delicious, but she is just all-around fun to work with. She is a cheerleader to those around her and I had a blast working with her on this shoot!
