Brand Photography: Tacoma Fiber Arts

Meet Amelia. She’s a mom of two little boys here in Tacoma, just like me. I met her while photographing at The Fernseed. She’s worked for them for a few months and she realized that there was a hole in the market for high-quality plant hangers and so she is working hard to fill it, by designing and making these beautiful rope hangers!

As I was photographing her making some hangers, she told me a story about how she had named her business (Newlin Green) after her grandmothers. She told me that her mom recently found a bag of one of her Grandmother’s old crafting things and was about to toss it out, but she asked Amelia if anything in it interested her first. It contained the scissors Amelia was using in these photos. What an awesome legacy to carry on her Grandmother’s passion for making things!

It’s stories like Amelia’s that inspire me to keep meeting other creative business owners and telling their stories through photography!
