Commercial Product Photography for PNW Inspired Snack Brand
Mountain Fresh offers premium grab-and-go snacks, available at convenience stores and neighborhood markets, so you never have to slow down to have a quality snack. Mountain Fresh is owned by Harbor Wholesale, a Northwest-based, family-owned food distributor. I’ve created imagery around the Mountain Fresh brand several times in the past, but the brand manager, Chelsea, approached me about updating the snack line’s photos this time due to some updates in their packaging. We planned a two-part shoot, first capturing some imagery in a home setting and then rounding it out with some adventure-themed lifestyle brand photos on location around the Pacific Northwest. You can view the home setting imagery in this previous post. Today I’ll be showcasing the second part of the shoot.
Why did the brand want on-location imagery for its snack products around the Pacific Northwest? Because this is part of the brand’s unique selling point. A big part of the Mountain Fresh brand messaging is around adventure and the area the brand is based in (Lacey, WA). Here’s the tagline taken from their website, “Mountain Fresh is made for adventure, whether that’s your favorite weekend hike or your daily commute. We know that sometimes navigating that busy Pacific Northwest lifestyle is an adventure all its own. Either way, we’ve got you covered.”
So as we planned this shoot concept, we looked for models who exuded that PNW vibe. Flannel, beanies, puffer vests, hiking boots, and backpacks required. The location we used was Owen Beach in Point Defiance Park because it has such a great variety of woods and water all in one. This made it easy to create some fun variety within this part of our brand photo shoot.
Without further ado, here are some of my favorite images that we create for the brand.
