Commercial Food Photography for Premium Grab and Go Snacks Brand

Mountain Fresh offers premium grab-and-go snacks, available at convenience stores and neighborhood markets, so you never have to slow down to have a quality snack. Mountain Fresh is owned by Harbor Wholesale, a Northwest-based, family-owned food distributor. I’ve created imagery around the Mountain Fresh brand several times in the past, but the brand manager, Chelsea, approached me about updating the snack line’s photos this time due to some updates in their packaging. We planned a two-part shoot, first capturing the images you’ll see below in a home setting and then rounding them out with some adventure-themed lifestyle brand photos on location around the Pacific Northwest.

The challenge in a brand photoshoot like this is to create enough variety in the imagery while also keeping it cohesive and showcasing the product first and foremost as the subject of the photos. I relied heavily on my Replica Surfaces for this shoot as well as using some natural backdrops around my daylight photo studio here in Tacoma, WA. I mostly focused on kitchen scenes but also incorporated some scenes that suggested a workspace and a living room vibe. I used a variety of props to enhance the message sourced from stores like Target and World Market. The lighting for this shoot was all natural coming in through the beautiful big windows in my studio space.

Which one of these photos do you wish you could reach into and grab the snacks out of? For me it’s anything covered in chocolate 😉😋

I love working with pre-packaged food and beverage brands to create stand-out, scroll-stopping imagery for their products.
