Project Objective
To create holiday imagery for Bundaberg Brewed Drinks, showcasing their products in two distinct settings: a vibrant outdoor adventure and a cozy home gathering. The goal was to create product imagery around a relaxed, non-cliche, Thanksgiving celebration.
Production Challenges
To create two distinct and festive, but non-traditional Thanksgiving scenes (a vibrant outdoor adventure and a cozy home gathering) without overcomplicating the set-up of a typically elaborate holiday scene. In addition, ensuring that the brews appeared cold, even as the environment felt cozy and warm, presented a unique challenge.
Creative Process
For the outdoor adventure shots, I chose a nearby park with vibrant fall colors and used props indicative of an adventure like a backpack, a picnic blanket, and a vintage camera. Then for the cozy home shots, I used a variety of vignettes including an inviting fireplace scene with a shared charcuterie board, a cozy livingroom, and kitchen and dining room styled surfaces propped with seasonal produce, florals, and small bites to indicate a simple Thanksgiving celebration.
To achieve the look of an ice-cold beverage, I sprayed the bottles with a glycerin solution to create the illusion of condensation and kept them looking refreshingly cool during the entirety of the shoot.
