How much should you really care about Instagram marketing? I'll let the stats below speak for themselves!
1. Know your target audience. 59% of 18-29 year olds use Instagram. If your ideal client falls within those ages you should be using it to reach those 59%. In addition, more women than men use the app (and don’t forget that we all know about how women drive 80% of consumer purchasing).
2. As humans we consume visual content faster and more effectively than text. 90% more effectively. That’s alot. Enough Said.
3. Everyone else is doing it (70% of U.S. Businesses to be exact). While I don’t recommend this train of thought for most things in life, I do in this situation because it works. Here’s why, 80% of users follow at least one business on Instagram. 75% take action (like visiting your website) and over 30% of users have purchased a product that they originally found on Instagram.
4. Why Instagram over other social networks? This blogger puts it well, “Instagram’s user base is growing far faster than social network usage in general. Instagram will grow 15.1% this year, compared to just 3.1% growth for the social network sector as a whole. Over the next four years, it will add 26.9 million users.” That’s 26.9 million more people (that’s in addition to the 700 Million existing users, mind you) who could be interested in your product or service.
